The Nike + is not performing so well on the longer run, I think it’s time to re calibrate. Hopefully find a track this week and get my Calibrate on. Otherwise, it’s been a great summer for running so far, and the shoes are great by themselves or with the chip.

I don’t know if anyone’s reading this, if so sorry for the slacking here are the summaries of the last couple runs. I have found that my Nano is freezing every 3rd run or so, but I have been catching it on the first few steps. After resetting it, the Nano appears not to play my playlist, very odd. Maybe I need to let it sit for a little bit. Here we go:

Another beautiful morning for a run. Ran the same 2.97 - 3.09 and the technology once again was nails. There was one technical glitch, when I went to sync up again the nano did freeze, and needed a soft reboot (2 times in 3 days, will have to keep an eye on this). I’m going to start putting type of run in the summary, cause it might come into play based on some of my reading:

Summary of Nike+ Performance
Temp 64
Surface Road
Terrain Flat
Predicted Distance 3.09 miles
Nike+ Distance 3.038 miles
Run Type Easy Run

  • Fartlek (for speed and pace)
  • Hills (for strength)
  • Tempo Runs (for speed and pace)
  • Intervals (for speed)
  • The Long Run (for endurance)
  • Easy run (for recovery)
  • Training run is a run I like to that is between tempo and easy, a comfortable pace that you can run that’s not to fast not to slow :).

6am, beautiful morning for a run. ME, you will be happy to know that it took about .2miles to find me today, weird :|. The run was good besides the initial glitch I believe the Nike+ did well.

Beautiful day, and a great run I must say. The terrain was soft the company was great, but the Nike+ didn’t perform :(. The second step I took resulted in no sound from the Nano. This has happened on more than one occasion, but it was because the headphone plug came loose. It was a bit dissapointing at the end of the run to find that there was no data taken :(. The run was still great, body and mind are balanced :)

    Here is the summary:

My experience today running in my new Nike Triax X+ was quite fantastic, not to mention the results I got with using the “Chip” in them for the first time. I’m at a crossroads on which tech to believe the Nike+ Kit that said my run was 2.97 miles or Google Map Pedometer that said 3.09miles. I guess either way we’re looking at 10ths of a mile for accuracy, not to shabby. Today’s run was a relatively flat run on roads. Tomorrow will be another test on a flat soft trail run, I’m very curious to see the results. ME, if it’s quite accurate, we need to turn yours in for a new one :).

Happy running and teching. Please let me know if you have experience in this or any other technology, related or not related to running.

I will try to log my days, terrain, temperatures, and what ever you or I can think of that may effect the accuracy of the Nike+ Kit. If I don’t have anything interesting to say, I will provide a summary in the following form (if you know of or can think of any other factors that might effect accuracy, please let me know and I’ll log them):

    Summary of Nike+ Performance
    Temp 76
    Surface Road
    Terrain Flat
    G-Map Distance 3.09 miles
    Nike+ Distance 2.97 miles

Running etc. had it’s first showing at the mountain goat this weekend, and it was quite good. We represented across the board, and had lots of fun in the process. The best feed back was from the runners as they saw “The Group” as a strong influence in achieving their goals, which means we’re doing something right.

On a positive / negative note, the group list is growing and is producing ample amount of email that may start to deter either the constant reading (treating like spam) and or not so happy employers. This being said I think we will need a new way to discuss our runs each week, and produce them for the masses :), any Ideas are welcome and encouraged.

    My thoughts:

    1. First Step, running etc. website for posting runs to reduce email’s back and forth (push), use rss for notification of update
      1. Post Runs to the web in blog format for a sequential account of our progress / activities
      2. Post Run Comments, and feedback
        1. Web interface - type comments directly on the site by clicking an add comment button
        2. Via Email (next step) - just reply to a broadcast / event driven email that you might get from the site itself.

This first step could keep your mailboxes clean. Maybe when a run is posted an email is sent you your mail box and then you can check out the site to post comments, and maybe eventually respond to the email to add a comment directly :|. Next steps will respond to the group. I’m thinking things along the lines of, adding and viewing routes, subscribing / logging in to do personal logging like some of us do on coolrunning, nike, and other sites. Let me know what you all think, and I can see what I can do to start this up.
