This is a first for me. I will be retiring a pair of sneakers very soon, probably today. Only 4 miles left until I reach the recommended 500 miles :|, and I’m not sure what to do. Retirement can be both a happy and sad time for all involved. For me, I will be replacing a piece of “hardware” that has taken me so many miles, but even more importantly has elevated my awareness of the benefits, mostly mentally, of the sport of running. I will miss my Nike Triax IX’s, and will embrace my new model Nike Triax X+’s. We will traverse new and exciting land together. For the Running Etc. Crew, I will try to have a party for my sneakers, and you will all be invited.

Many people have described what I do as “Zen”. Weather it’s developing software, snowboarding, or drinking a beer. A new focus I have in my company is Sales.

Q: Can one be a “Zen” Salesguy?

A: I guess we’ll find out in the months to come.

I’m guessing topics will range from running to the application of Computer Science algorithms on the life and decision making processes of prominent executivesJ.
